Abstract: The roof mining pressure monitoring was carried out to prevent and control of roof cut-off, gushing and sand-blasting in the thin-bedrock and water –rich areas of 22206 mining face in Halagou coal mine and to ensure safety mining in the initial mining stage. The results show that the roof was fully collapsed to form penetrating fissure and surface collapse and the pressure of weighting was obviously greater than the first weighting during the second weighting period, meanwhile, technical research on roof disaster prevention and control was carried out from the aspects of drainage water in advance, the construction surface hydrological observation hole, grouting reinforcement engineering, forced caving roof construction, optimization of mining drainage system and reserve emergency supplies. Hydrogeological protection, pressure prediction, engineering quality assurance and speed control of working face such as the four safety technical measures was proposed for the face to cross the thin-bedrock and water –rich areas.
